Care Guide:

  • Placement: Adaptable. If kept indoors in Quebec winters, it must be near a window and on a humidity tray to combat dry furnace air. If kept outdoors, bring it inside before the first hard frost (late September/October).
  • Light: Loves bright light. If indoors, a South-facing window is best. If the leaves start growing large, it needs more light.
  • Watering: High consumption. It should stay moist. If the soil dries out completely, the tree may drop all its leaves as a defense mechanism.
  • Feeding: High-nitrogen fertilizer in early spring to jumpstart growth, switching to a balanced 10-10-10 during summer.
  • Repotting: Fast-growing roots. Young trees need repotting every 2 years in early spring.
